Can-Am BRP Motorcycles
Launched by BRP (Bombardier Recreational Products) in 2007, the Can-Am Spyder has been changing the way people look at on-road recreation. Carrying on the tradition of a small but legendary motocross brand launched over 30 years ago, Can-Am has brought that spirit of innovation to the street.
Parent company BRP started out making snowmobiles, and it's not inaccurate to describe the Spyder as a snowmobile on wheels, a one-of-a-kind three-wheeled vehicle that invented its own category. Traction control, stability systems and automatic and semi-automatic transmissions make the Spyder like nothing else on the road.
The Can-Am Spyder lineup now consists of a triad of three-wheelers, ranging from the entry-level Ryker, to the sporty F3 models, and right up to the top-o'-the-line mile-crunching RT "baggers." This range of machines means the Canadian brand has something to offer everyone, from those looking for a fun afternoon ride to others looking to do serious travelling in an unconventional way.
Aside from Spyders and Ski-Doo and Lynx snowmobiles, BRP Can-Am manufactures a massive range of ATVs, side-by-sides, Sea-Doo watercraft, Evinrude and Rotax engines, etc. The powersports experience pool here is very deep.
Ryker Rally Edition
For 2021, there are two Rykers: the base model, with your choice of a Rotax 600cc twin-cylinder engine or 900cc Triple. For a few (thousand) dollars more (starting at $11,499, the Ryker Rally Edition pictured gets you the 900cc Rotax Triple engine, longer travel suspension, gravel-oriented tires, underbody protection, rider-comfort upgrades and more. Both Rykers really couldn't be much simpler to ride, thanks to their fully automatic CVT-type transmissions, with reverse.
The five Spyder F3 models for 2021 embody what the Spyder has been about from the beginning: seriously sporty performance in a stable, easy-to-use package anybody can drive. Ride? Five packages, really, from the $15,999 base 105-horsepower F3 all the way up to the $24,499, 115 hp F3 Limited, complete with most of the comforts of home including 36.5 gallons of storage and a BRP six-speaker sound system.
