Revival Cycles, known for its influence in the custom motorcycle design and build community, is expanding its renowned The Handbuilt Show to Los Angeles with the inaugural The Handbuilt Invitational.

Traditionally held in Austin, Texas, this event has established itself as a showcase of custom vehicles as art. The new invitational will occur in downtown LA from July 5th through 7th. Tickets are available at Revival Cycles' website.

The Handbuilt Invitational will feature curated collections from Revival Cycles' associates, displaying bikes and cars from notable figures in the automotive world. These include Jay Leno, Jonathan Ward of ICON 4x4, Rod Emory of Emory Motorsports, Roland Sands, and Shinya Kimura.

There will be 90,000 square feet of displays.

The three-day Los Angeles event will feature over 50 handbuilt motorcycles and custom cars in a 30,000-square-foot indoor space and an additional 60,000 square feet outdoors. The event will also showcase selections from ArtCenter College of Design and celebrate female builders, including a custom bike built by a 12-year-old girl and her father.

"After 10 years of running an event that became incredibly beloved in Austin, we felt that it was high time to take this show on the road. Los Angeles is the obvious first choice given that it is, in our minds, the absolute hub of hot rod and motorcycle culture." stated Alan Stulberg, founder of Revival Cycles. "This year, we have invited a few of Revival’s friends, including Jay Leno, Jonathan Ward and many more, to be a part of our curation process by inviting their favorite builders and collectors to bring out beautiful machines to share with attendees. Expect a show like no other.”

Real Deal Revolution will host workshops on welding, pinstriping, and leather making each day. This nonprofit, founded by Theresa Contreras and the late Jessi Combs, aims to transform perceptions of skilled trades and women's roles within them.

The event schedule is as follows:

July 5: 6pm - 12am

July 6: 12pm - 12am

July 7: 12pm - 6pm

The event will be held at 1219 South Santa Fe Avenue, Los Angeles, CA 90021. Tickets range from $15 to $150, with three-day passes starting at $35. The event is open to all ages, and children 12 and under can attend for free.

That it seems they may have pulled the rug out from the people whom benefit in the austin community from having this show there these past years.

very uncool if that’s the case. The article , perhaps purposely?, doesn’t say .

Sounds like they’re adding this show, not discontinuing the TX show, in which case I’m very happy about this.
